Eploy attended the In House Recruitment Expo, held at London Olympia on the 23rd and 24th of February. The annual event, similar to past years, proved an excellent platform to meet and engage with delegates and showcase the latest developments to Eploy over the last 12 months.
The hot topics of conversation during the week were:
Mobile Friendly Application Pages
This has been a hot topic in recruitment for some time, and it’s not going anywhere! Candidate journeys frequently involve multiple sessions across devices. Every part of the candidate journey needs to be mobile optimised to provide the best possible candidate experience.
Talent Pool Management
Talent pools are not a new concept in recruitment, so it is perhaps surprising that this was such a hot topic. But here at Eploy, we’re actually expecting talent pools to become an increasingly important recruitment tool. Read our articles about Talent Pool Management on HR Grapevine.
Name Blind Applications
Somewhat of an emerging trend in recent years, we expect this to become an increasingly important part of in house recruitment. Name Blind Applications hide the name of a candidate, and go a long way to preventing any discrimination in the early parts of the recruitment process.
Equal Opportunities Reporting
Tied into the Name Blind theme is equal opportunities reporting. Are you attracting a diverse range of candidates? How could you attract more? Historical and real time reporting can help to ensure that you are meeting recruitment best practice guidelines.
Employer Brand
Is your employer brand as strong as your customer brand? Are you turning away top talent, or struggling to attract them? Employer branding is another theme that is becoming increasingly important as the war for top talent intensifies. It’s one of the factors we consider in our candidate experience healthcheck.
Onboarding
Successful onboarding can increase the chance of a successful hire and decrease the cost of hire, so it’s no wonder this was one of the top themes at the expo. Find out more about onboarding.
