Eploy welcomed Fitness First onboard to coincide with the Government's roadmap out of lockdown that allowed gyms to re-open from the 12th April 2021. Their Eploy implementation had candidate experience at the forefront to attract and engage employees who strive for the best.
With 45 clubs across the country, the Fitness First team are experts in everything health and wellbeing. Fitness First created the gym industry in the UK in the 1990s and fast became a leader in the market because of its unshakeable passion for fitness. With their improved and innovative business being the front runner in the fitness industry, they are always on the lookout for great people to join their team.
Fitness First are very aware of their candidate profile, who largely fall into Gen Z, and how they like to interact - one touch, anytime and with social engagement. So, Fitness First has worked alongside Eploy to design a hiring process that reflects their candidate’s expectations.
When applicant tracking alone isn't enough
Previously, Fitness First used an applicant tracking tool that couldn't support the candidate experience they wanted to deliver, nor could it support the group's ambition. Fitness First wanted to incorporate their strong set of company values, their ‘Winning Ways’ across the recruitment process; Win Together, Aim Higher, Own It, We Care, Love What We Do - and chose Eploy to help turn them into recruitment reality.
The objectives behind the implementation were to successfully launch Eploy's ATS & E-recruitment platform and a careers site in a rapid timescale. This included engaging hiring managers, providing them with the right tools, and designing an improved candidate experience. Fitness First promote entrepreneurial leadership and saw how Eploy's hiring manager portal would enable hiring managers to manage their own recruitment. Now, hiring managers can raise vacancies, shortlist and schedule interviews and easily review and provide feedback to candidates and colleagues.
People first
Candidates want to search and apply for roles easily, and Fitness First designed their recruitment process to mirror this. The Recruitment Team also recognise the differences between internal and external candidates – and as a high proportion of placements are internal, the new approach to recruitment with Eploy supports the differing candidate journeys for internal and external candidates with customised workflows and tailored communications. The new solution delivers a far more streamlined service.
